Two pastors and churches (Jefferson First and Ebenezer), local to Jackson County, have partnered for this missional outpost. Brent Gilstrap and Chris Laskey lead services that bring a meaningful, Biblical message that is authentic and with a bit of humor (seriousness is not a spiritual gift!). Add outstanding modern worship music, great kids’ stuff, coffee, and a relaxed, heart-felt atmosphere, and you’ve got God’s Outpost, embracing Jackson County, and beyond.
Outpost is a OneRace (the human race) congregation praying for the walls to be demolished that divide races and denominations.
Luke 9:51 – “When the days drew near for him to be taken up, he set his face to go to Jerusalem.” Jesus is setting his face toward Jerusalem and the cross. At Outpost, our focus is set on the cross of Christ as a source of hope and resurrection.
Our Core Values:
Ain’t nobody got time for fake. At Outpost, we value authenticity – authentic community, authentic relationships, authentic worship, authentic sharing of life , and authentic encouragement for real life struggles.
Authentic Community embraces a Kingdom community where people do not all look the same. Outpost is a OneRace (the human race) community that is prayerful for the walls that divide races and denominations to be demolished, making way for Revival and Reconciliation.
Expect real people and real relationships. Come to Outpost as you are – seriously.
Christ-Centered & Bible-Based
Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but through the Son. Jesus came to make the Father known and Jesus’ food was to do the will of the Father. Outpost seeks to be plumb-lined with Jesus and to do the will of the Father, not our will or only that which is convenient. This doesn’t happen without being immersed in the Word and immersed in an unapologetic, authentic, Christ-centered community.
Expect to hear about Jesus at Outpost.
The Spirit-filled life is the Christian life. The Holy Spirit is the person of the God that is here on earth today to empower and enable Jesus people to do what they gotta do. The Spirit enables us to know Jesus and the Father intimately and convicts of us our need for change. Outpost is inviting the Holy Spirit to lead our community from the get go. We believe that all of the gifts of the Spirit are available and active in the Church today and our prayer is, “Come, Holy Spirit!”
Expect the Spirit to show up in worship and in your own life as part of Outpost.
Growing Trainable & Prayer-full People
We all have stuff to learn when it comes to figuring out what is important to God and how we can be more like Jesus. At Outpost, commitment to learning about the Bible and being a part of a small group where we can learn and love together is of high value. And not just to learn, but also being willing to share what you’ve learned with others.
Outpost is praying for Awakening in Jackson County. We believe prayer paves the way for what God will do, if we ask. Prayer is essential. Prayer builds intimacy with the Father and make our hearts known to the One who loves us.
Expect a prayerful environment and to be challenged to not stay the same at Outpost.
Facilitating Healing & Wholeness for Families & Individuals
We all need God’s healing touch in our lives and God’s best for our families. Whether we have been hurt physically, emotionally or spiritually, healing is possible through God’s grace. Whether the brokenness we have experienced is the result of someone else’s harmful choices or our own harmful choices, we believe at Outpost that healing and wholeness are not only possible, but that the Lord longs to bring healing and wholeness to our lives. Miraculous healing still takes place in the world today and we believe God wants to use Outpost to bring greater hope, healing and wholeness to Jackson County, and beyond. Outpost wants families to thrive – with God, that is possible!
Expect to meet less-than-perfect people at Outpost!

Kids and Youth are a top priority at Outpost. We want our kids and youth to know Jesus, to know God’s Word, and for them to have a faith solid foundation and relationship with Jesus Christ prior to going off to college. Getting into a regular routine of serving others is also an important element of becoming more like Jesus. Faith is the greatest gift we can give our kids and youth, and .
